KARA becomes the all-time leader in DVD sales for a foreign artist in Japan

The title had been held previously by Girls’ Generation, but KARA has become the overall #1 with the release of the group’s latest DVD, ‘KARA 1st JAPAN TOUR 2012 KARASIA‘. The DVD sold 30,000 copies in its first week, shooting to the top of the Oricon Weekly DVD Chart.

A Japanese news outlet reported, “KARA has surpassed Girls’ Generation, who had ranked #1 in the DVD charts twice. They’ve taken the #1 overall spot for a foreign artist.” The group has ranked #1 on the Oricon Weekly DVD Charts previously with ‘KARA BEST CLIPS‘, and ‘KARA BEST CLIPS 2 & Shows‘.

The Blu-Ray version of the same concert sold 14,000 copies in the first week, ranking at #2 on the Blu-Ray Weekly charts. Not only so, but their album ‘Girls Forever‘ also ranked #2 on the Album Weekly charts.

Psy & Hangeng win accolades at the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards

Asian pop artists Psy and Hangeng (former Super Junior member) both had a very successful night at the ’2012 MTV Europe Music Awards’, receiving recognition for their hard work this year.At the awards ceremony held today in Frankfurt, Germany, Psy received an award for the ‘Best Music Video’ and Hangeng emerged victorious after his nomination for ‘Best Worldwide Act’.Following up on Big Bang‘s 2011 win for Best Worldwide Act, Psy and Hangeng’s accolades at this year’s MTV EMAs are a sign of the rising popularity of the Asian pop market.

Psy received a certificate from Guiness World Records!

In September, Psy had broken the world record set previously by LMFAO with “Party Rock Anthem” for having the most amount of likes on YouTube. Currently Psy has 4,911,081 likes with “Gangnam Style“, as compared to LMFAO’s 1,574,963, Justin Bieber‘s 1,327,147 for “Baby“, andAdele‘s 1,245,641 likes for “Rolling in the Deep“.

The Guinness World Records official headquarters are located in London and with Psy’s visit to the United Kingdom, he was awarded with the certificate during his visit to BBC Radio 1. After receiving the certificate, Psy stated, “I’m honored. This it the first certificate I’ve had.. I never received one in school.”

Boyfriend is back with “Janus” on ‘M! Countdown’

Idol boy group Boyfriend has unleashed their first full-length album titled ‘Janus‘!

The title track, also titled “Janus”, is the work of hit producing team Sweetune. The members have set aside the pastels and flowers to come back with a more manly and charismatic concept this time around to “show you a charisma that is different from other ordinary manly concepts through their stage.”

Super Junior To Celebrate 7th Anniversary With New Photo Book

Super Junior will be releasing a new photo book, "Super Junior Boys in City Season 4", on November 6th to celebrate their 7th anniversary.

The photo book will feature photos taken in Paris while they held a solo concert there back in April. In addition to the photos, the book will contain written passages from the group's members about their thoughts on their debut,Leeteuk's enlistments and the friendship they've developed from being in a group together.

The photo book will come in 2 version: regular edition and limited edition. The regular edition comes with the photo book, a book of postcards and a poster. The limited edition will also come with a diary and DVD showing behind the scenes footage from the making of the photo book.

Due to Super Junior's popularity across Asia, "Super Junior Boys in City Season 4" will be released in China, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand on the same day it is released in South Korea, allowing international fans the chance to celebrate their 7th anniversary with them.
